winter has finally arrived

After several days of temps in the 40s (and a generally mild winter), it comes as a bit of a relief to see the snow coming down and piling up. We are New Englanders!

a visit to bedrock gardens

We recently visited Bedrock Gardens in Lee for the first time. Here are a few pictures, but they only hint at the beauty there.

23 small paintings at adelle's

Wednesday morning, Ron and I hung my paintings at Adelle's Coffeehouse on Hale Street in Dover. They will be hanging for the whole month of July. Stop in for coffee and a snack, or an amazing White Heron iced tea, and browse the walls!

ready for show at adelle's coffeehouse

RSP Studios framed 8 new paintings and I am combining those with 15 other framed pieces for a month-long show at Adelle's Coffeehouse, my favorite coffee shop in Dover. Hope you will stop in to Adelle's (on Hale St.) often during the month of July to see my work and enjoy a great cup of coffee or glass of iced tea.

I've packed up the paintings, and Ron and I will be at Adelle's bright and early tomorrow morning to hang them.

colors in mind

I am a person who wears green, gray, brown, and black, with the occasional bright accessory. But these colors, the colors in my paintings, are me, too. Though I love to draw with a thin line of ink, these marks, these layers and contrasts in my paintings, feel like landscapes that I live in, at least in moments of solitude.

a sugary dusting to bring in spring

Yesterday was the first full day of spring. There was a dusting of snow on the deck in the morning; it melted and then we got some big, fat flakes in the late afternoon.

Keeping warm with some springtime painting:

january show at riverstones

I was fortunate to have a show at the Franklin Gallery at RiverStones Custom Framing in Rochester during the month of January.

Since then I have made a number of new paintings. I have quite a few unframed pictures in the studio. Looking forward to my July show at Adelle's Coffee House in Dover!

as summer winds down…

I'm trying to get to the studio as often as I can before going back to school.

some new summer paintings

Time at the studio has been limited by the fact that I was taking an online course this summer, but my limited time was fun and fairly productive. I have several more paintings in progress that I will post soon.

Ron and I hung a joint show—his photographs, my paintings—at the Berwick, Maine, Public Library this morning. The nice folks there are hosting our work through July and August.

spring is here!

I last posted on New Year's Eve, and since then we've had a long, long winter. Despite early morning temperatures of 20 degrees, I do believe spring is finally here. Don't know why I haven't posted in so long, but I have continued to paint. Here's proof.

new paintings in durham

Yesterday Ron and I hung 11 of my paintings and 3 of my photographs at The Works Bakery Café in Durham. It's hard to get good pictures of them, what with reflections off the glass and all, so I invite you to stop in to view them in person, and have a bagel and a cup of coffee.

Happy New Year!

studio and home

I do love my paint sticks. I was able to do a bit more painting in the studio this weekend, and I also carved a few stamps.

On the home front, I photographed dishes in the sink because I liked the way the light reflected off the Pyrex and pottery.
